Final Aftermath ‘Health Day’ - 5 April 2025
In an era of
change and uncertainty, we are all trying to adjust and adapt to the new, which
is as pleasant as it is unpleasant, and perhaps even more the latter, on
various levels, especially when it comes to our minds, which are full of
worries, pressures, various responsibilities, immense social, economic, family,
political and I would even say spiritual pressure.
Every day we
are confronted by polarised choices: they want us to be yes or no, left or
right, good or bad, wrong or right, extremes that touch each other, that make
us feel that no choice is truly the right one, because no matter how much we
choose we always seem to lose.
Faced with a
polarised, fragmented, ruined social situation, devoid of values, principles
and laws that truly protect and organise the various sectors of society, evil
reigns freely through the gaps that are immense everywhere, from the simplest
to the most advanced and complex levels.
From the
baker who uses cheap flour impregnated with rat-killing powder because he has
to earn his bread, to the rich politician who wants to be a millionaire before
his term is up, society calls for rules, for walls, for the exclusion of those
who are ungrateful, for the righteous to be blamed for sinners and for
confusion to reign, especially within our minds which are trying to stabilise
themselves, an impossible or at least thankless task.
In the midst
of this scenario, almost unintentionally, we are placed in situations that we
sometimes didn't premeditate, suddenly it's done, it's gone, it's over. We
don't really know why we're there, we don't really understand our roles and
even less do we have time to reflect on our purposes, our mission, our goals
and desires. We let ourselves be carried away by the tide of others, by what
‘has to be’, even if we don't always know ‘why’?
After this
prologue, we, the small local community, try to find our place and understand
how we can contribute, and this ‘how’ appears more quickly than we imagine,
because the needs are immense, too many to count, and when we lend a hand, we
realise that our arms, our bodies and sometimes even our souls are quickly
required.
This prologue
serves to establish the context in which I now seek to analyse the ‘Health Day’
event that took place last Saturday, 5 April, in connection with World Health
Day, which was yesterday, 7 April.
The theme of
our event was ‘Natural Health’, which aimed to explore natural ways of
maintaining or restoring physical, mental, emotional and energetic health,
namely a healthy lifestyle and connection with nature.
We start from
the principle that we should be more responsible for our health, and we want to
sensitise the community to the fact that they can and should do more to be
healthy, and also to raise awareness of the fact that health is not luck or
chance, but the consequence of the choices we make every day, both in terms of
diet and physical exercise, but also in relation to the lack of relaxation and
treatment of pain, both physical and emotional and energetic, that we let go of,
often to the point of serious illness.
The guests
were hand-picked because they embodied this message and had the skills and
knowledge, and were health professionals who have this understanding and act in
accordance with this principle.
My aim, without
a doubt, is often misunderstood because, as I've said in various trainings
given at the association, it's a bit futuristic and some would even say
utopian, but that's why I keep trying to make it happen.
My aim is to
provide a moment in time and space that opens up the possibility of creating a
bridge that balances the forces that are separated in our country: natural
medicine and conventional (modern) medicine.
I believe
that we all gain from joining forces, and these two forces being separated and
at odds with each other is undoubtedly, in my view, the worst idea ever, and it
seems that this situation was intentional and started longer ago than any of us
have been alive, and it is therefore difficult to change this pre-established
situation before we arrived here, and that is why it is futuristic and utopian,
because it means changing the world as it is, to something, in my view, better.
If I'm the
child who never grew up and became a realist and fatalist, yes, I am, without a
doubt, and that's abnormal and out of step with the current reality. It's
almost frightening, but not just for others, but for me too.
I'm
misinterpreted and misunderstood, and I don't always manage to get across the
message I want to with my actions, but this text aims to change that, or at
least try to.
The
separation between natural and holistic medicine is so strong that there are therapists
who were at the event who suggested that only naturalistic and holistic
therapists and masseurs should take part in these events, as if they thought
there was no room for modern pharmacological medicine with a scalpel always
ready to rip out organs and keep people addicted to drugs, without changing
anything in their lives, in these spaces, but I think that this separation is
the problem I want to solve.
So I've
organised this event with the intention and purpose of creating a bridge that
allows the community to understand that together we are stronger, and that
everything is necessary, with weight and measure, with discernment and common
sense, with knowledge and intelligence, and above all with a lot of soul and
spirit in between, because that's being human, that's being humanity.
As the saying
goes, you can put water for the horse to drink, but you can't make the horse
drink the water. In the same way, I understand and know that although the
bridge has been built and the opportunity to use it has been given, it doesn't
mean that everyone will use it.
A long time
will have to pass before we see people crossing from one side to the other, and
even longer until the day when there is no need for a bridge at all, because
there will be no separation, and until that time comes, someone has to take the
first step and, if only for a day, make it happen, create the possibility, show
by example that yes, it is possible, as it was.
I believe
that the objective has been realised, and I thank all the people who made the
2nd Health Day the fantastic moment that it was, and the fact that it has grown
so much from the 1st Health Day in 2023 to now is due to the fact that you came
together and contributed, even if, but you gave of yourselves and with that, as
we know, we give energy to what we pay attention to and this event was
immensely energised by all those who dedicated themselves and paid attention
and put in their work and presence and thus added to and made the Day the
success it was.
Once again, many
thanks to everyone.
